The Beginning of a Vision
In 2017, God inspired our home church, the Chinese Bible Missions Church in Los Angeles, with a vision to address the need for Cantonese-speaking churches in LA’s eastern region. As we recognized the lack of such churches, it felt as if God was whispering to us, "Why not establish a Cantonese church there?" Although the Cantonese-speaking population in Los Angeles has decreased in recent years, we were convicted that they too needed the Gospel. In faith, our elders, pastors, and leaders gathered in prayer and felt a deep calling to plant a church in Chino Hills, CA.
By God’s grace, Elder Eddie Kam, Rev. Kenny Ngai, and 24 devoted members stepped forward. In January 2019, they began worship services and small groups, marking the birth of Kindle Hills Church. Our journey began with a shared vision and steadfast belief in God’s guidance.

The First Kindle Worship Service
On Easter Sunday, April 21, 2019, Kindle Hills Church celebrated its first official worship service at Ramona Jr. High School in Chino, CA. This momentous occasion was filled with hope and joy, as we witnessed God’s grace unfold before us. Surrounded by the warmth of many invited guests and the loving support of our brothers and sisters from our mother church, CBMC, we were blessed to welcome over 200 participants that day.
Early Preparations
Before Kindle Hills Church officially launched, our dedicated church plant team began gathering for worship at the Kindle small group meeting place in Chino Hills, CA in January 2019. After each service, we gathered to plan and prepare—learning about our local community, distributing promotional flyers, and earnestly working toward our soft opening. These humble beginnings were marked by prayer, unity, and a shared vision to bring God's light to Chino Hills.
Outreach Activities
In the early days of Kindle Hills Church, we reached out to our community through Chinese New Year carnivals, hikes, and barbecues. We are thankful to the Lord for the new friendships we made and for the opportunity to introduce so many people to our church. Each connection has been a true blessing, and we look forward to growing together in faith.
Preview Worship Service
Before officially launching our worship services, we held several preview gatherings. These were chances for our team to perfect our worship and offer our best to God. They also warmly welcomed new friends, allowing them to experience the heartfelt atmosphere of Kindle Hills Church and join our growing community.
Small Group Meeting Place
We thank God for blessing us with a unit in Chino Hills, CA for our small group meetings. During the pandemic, this space also became a vital hub for our online worship livestreams. It’s clear that God had already prepared this place for its special purpose, and we are thankful for His foresight and provision.
One-Year Anniversary
During the pandemic, we celebrated the first anniversary of Kindle Hills Church with heartfelt selfies of our congregation worshiping at home, surrounded by screens of encouragement. May each anniversary serve as a powerful reminder to steadfastly embrace our mission to "Save One More."
A New Chapter During the Pandemic
In 2020, amid the global pandemic, Kindle Hills Church faced considerable challenges. Yet, we are profoundly grateful for the Lord’s miraculous guidance that led us to a new worship venue at Ontario Christian High School. Thanks to His grace, we were able to restart and continue our mission in this new space.
