《不論功行賞，要平均分配》
16 那人領大衛下去，見他們（亞瑪力人）散在地上，吃喝跳舞，因為從非利士地和猶大地所擄來的財物甚多。17 大衛從黎明直到次日晚上，擊殺他們，除了四百騎駱駝的少年人之外，沒有一個逃脫的。18 亞瑪力人所擄去的財物，大衛全都奪回，並救回他的兩個妻來。19 凡亞瑪力人所擄去的，無論大小、兒女、財物，大衛都奪回來，沒有失落一個。20 大衛所奪來的牛群羊群，跟隨他的人趕在原有的群畜前邊，說：「這是大衛的掠物。」21 大衛到了那疲乏不能跟隨、留在比梭溪的二百人那裏。他們出來迎接大衛並跟隨的人。大衛前來問他們安。22 跟隨大衛人中的惡人和匪類說：「這些人既然沒有和我們同去，我們所奪的財物就不分給他們，只將他們各人的妻子兒女給他們，使他們帶去就是了。」23 大衛說：「弟兄們，耶和華所賜給我們的，不可不分給他們；因為祂保佑我們，將那攻擊我們的敵軍交在我們手裏。24 這事誰肯依從你們呢？上陣的得多少，看守器具的也得多少；應當大家平分。」25 大衛定此為以色列的律例典章，從那日直到今日。 (撒母耳記上三十16-25)

They came out to meet David and the men with him. As David and his men approached, he asked them how they were. 22 But all the evil men and troublemakers among David’s followers said, “Because they did not go out with us, we will not share with them the plunder we recovered. However, each man may take his wife and children and go.” 23 David replied, “No, my brothers, you must not do that with what the Lord has given us. He has protected us and delivered into our hands the raiding party that came against us. 24 Who will listen to what you say? The share of the man who stayed with the supplies is to be the same as that of him who went down to the battle. All will share alike.” 25 David made this a statute and ordinance for Israel from that day to this. (1 Samuel 30:16-25)

分享：來到第四天，大家對於大衛出人意外的舉動只怕早已見怪不怪。但作為一個出色的軍士領袖，立下上陣和看守的平分戰利品的定例，而不採納論功行賞，總是難以理解的。
得知妻子、兒女和財物也被擄去後，大衛便帶著六百人追趕亞瑪力人去了。然而，由於其中二百人疲乏，不能過比梭溪，大衛便讓這二百人留在溪邊，帶著餘下的追回所有。回到比梭溪，有惡人和匪類建議只將兒女妻子還給疲乏的二百人，不和他們分享財物。但大衛卻表示上陣和看守器具的要平分財物，又將之成為定例。大衛這種做法在現今社會只怕會引起更大的意見，這不單無法鼓勵士氣，帶來更大的效益，更忽略了對個人努力的肯定。
事實上，這種看法有著兩大謬誤：一、從根本上來看，這最大的問題在於將得勝看為自己努力的成果。但正如大衛所說：「弟兄們，耶和華所賜給我們的，不可不分給他們；因為祂保佑我們，將那攻擊我們的敵軍交在我們手裏。」(撒上三十23) 大衛承認神才是勝利背後的功臣，祂將敵人交在上陣殺敵的，也交在看守器具的。
二、這種做法反而是肯定所有人的價值，不以成果來衡量各人所付出的工夫。「可見栽種的，算不得甚麼，澆灌的，也算不得甚麼；只在那叫他生長的神。栽種的和澆灌的，都是一樣，但將來各人要照自己的工夫得自己的賞賜。」(林前三7-8)
大衛的平均分配是因為他看到神在背後的供應和保守，他看到那二百人的軟弱和疲乏，他看到那些惡人和匪類需要學懂接納和知道神的工作。弟兄姊妹，不可輕看你在教會的每一個服事崗位。栽種的和澆灌的都是一樣，大家也是依靠神才能讓事情成就，我們只需要盡心將自己眼前的工夫做好。耶和華不像人看人，他看重的是我們知道和依靠著祂是供應和保守的一位。
反思：在我的事奉崗位中，我能否見到神在背後的工作？
禱告：親愛的天父，感謝祢這個星期總是以大衛的故事告訴我所應看重的價值和特質。就讓我依靠著祢的供應和保守，勇敢地將祢的教導活出來，分別為聖。奉主名求，阿們。
