《主靠近圈外者》
1 主知道法利賽人聽見祂收門徒，施洗，比約翰還多，(2 其實不是耶穌親自施洗，乃是祂的門徒施洗，) 3 祂就離了猶太，又往加利利去。4 必須經過撒馬利亞，5 於是到了撒馬利亞的一座城，名叫敘加，靠近雅各給他兒子約瑟的那塊地。6 在那裏有雅各井；耶穌因走路困乏，就坐在井旁。那時約有午正。7 有一個撒馬利亞的婦人來打水。耶穌對她說：「請你給我水喝。」( 8 那時門徒進城買食物去了。) 9 撒馬利亞的婦人對祂說：「祢既是猶太人，怎麼向我一個撒馬利亞婦人要水喝呢？」原來猶太人和撒馬利亞人沒有來往。 10 耶穌回答說：「你若知道神的恩賜，和對你說『給我水喝』的是誰，你必早求祂，祂也必早給了你活水。」11 婦人說：「先生，沒有打水的器具，井又深，祢從哪裏得活水呢？12 我們的祖宗雅各將這井留給我們，他自己和兒子並牲畜也都喝這井裏的水，難道祢比他還大嗎？」13 耶穌回答說：「凡喝這水的還要再渴；14 人若喝我所賜的水就永遠不渴。我所賜的水要在他裏頭成為泉源，直湧到永生。」15 婦人說：「先生，請把這水賜給我，叫我不渴，也不用來這麼遠打水。」16 耶穌說：「你去叫你丈夫也到這裏來。」17 婦人說：「我沒有丈夫。」耶穌說：「你說沒有丈夫是不錯的。18 你已經有五個丈夫，你現在有的並不是你的丈夫。你這話是真的。」19 婦人說：「先生，我看出祢是先知。20 我們的祖宗在這山上禮拜，你們倒說，應當禮拜的地方是在耶路撒冷。」21 耶穌說：「婦人，你當信我。時候將到，你們拜父，也不在這山上，也不在耶路撒冷。22 你們所拜的，你們不知道；我們所拜的，我們知道，因為救恩是從猶太人出來的。23 時候將到，如今就是了，那真正拜父的，要用心靈和誠實拜祂，因為父要這樣的人拜祂。」24 神是個靈，所以拜祂的必須用心靈和誠實拜祂。」25 婦人說：「我知道彌賽亞 (就是那稱為基督的) 要來；祂來了，必將一切的事都告訴我們。」26 耶穌說：「這和你說話的就是祂！」(約翰福音四1-26)
1 Now Jesus learned that the Pharisees had heard that He was gaining and baptizing more disciples than John — 2 although in fact it was not Jesus who baptized, but His disciples. 3 So He left Judea and went back once more to Galilee. 4 Now He had to go through Samaria. 5 So He came to a town in Samaria called Sychar, near the plot of ground Jacob had given to his son Joseph. 6 Jacob’s well was there, and Jesus, tired as He was from the journey, sat down by the well. It was about noon. 7 When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, “Will you give me a drink?” 8 (His disciples had gone into the town to buy food.) 9 The Samaritan woman said to Him, “You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for a drink?” (For Jews do not associate with Samaritans.) 10 Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked Him and He would have given you living water.” 11 “Sir,” the woman said, “you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where can you get this living water? 12 Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did also his sons and his livestock?” 13 Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, 14 but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” 15 The woman said to Him, “Sir, give me this water so that I won’t get thirsty and have to keep coming here to draw water.” 16 He told her, “Go, call your husband and come back.” 17 “I have no husband,” she replied. Jesus said to her, “You are right when you say you have no husband. 18 The fact is, you have had five husbands, and the man you now have is not your husband. What you have just said is quite true.” 19 “Sir,” the woman said, “I can see that you are a prophet. 20 Our ancestors worshiped on this mountain, but you Jews claim that the place where we must worship is in Jerusalem.” 21 “Woman,” Jesus replied, “believe me, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. 22 You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews. 23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and His worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” 25 The woman said, “I know that Messiah” (called Christ) “is coming. When He comes, He will explain everything to us.” 26 Then Jesus declared, “I, the one speaking to you—I am He.” (John 4:1-26)
【耶穌的見證 ── 必須經過】：
第4節有一句很值得留意的說話：「必須經過撒馬利亞。」對當時的猶太人來說，撒馬利亞人並不是他們樂意親近的一群。兩個群體之間有長久的歷史、宗教和族群矛盾。到了井旁，界線更加明顯：耶穌是猶太人，她是撒馬利亞人；耶穌是男人，她是女人；更何況從後面的對話知道，她的生命還有一段複雜的過去。
所以連婦人自己也感到意外：「祢既是猶太人，怎麼向我一個撒馬利亞婦人要水喝呢？」(v.9) 但耶穌第一句說話非常簡單：「請你給我水喝。」(v,7) 祂沒有站在遠處等她走過來，而是主動打開一段對話。祂從一杯水開始，慢慢談到活水；從她每天的需要，談到生命深處的乾渴；最後更直接向她表明自己彌賽亞的身份：「這和你說話的就是祂！」(v.26)
「必須經過撒馬利亞」不只是一條地理路線，更讓我們看見耶穌牧養人的方式：在人與人築起界線的地方，耶穌選擇走過去。祂沒有因為她的族群而避開她，沒有因為她的性別而忽略她，也沒有因為她複雜的生命而拒絕她。別人眼中的「圈外人」，仍然是耶穌願意走近、對話和拯救的人。
【效法主的提醒】
每個人其實都有自己的「圈」。
有些人跟我們年齡相近、背景相似、性格合得來，自然很容易成為朋友；但也總有一些人，是我們平常不太會主動接觸的。可能是講另一種語言的人、不同年齡的人、性格跟自己完全不同的人；也可能只是教會裏每個星期都見面，卻從來沒有真正傾過偈的人。
問題未必是我們討厭他們，而是我們很自然留在自己舒服的圈子裏。其實要跨出這個圈，未必要做甚麼轟轟烈烈的事。耶穌與撒馬利亞婦人的對話，也只是由一句「請你給我水喝」開始。所以今天，可以做一個簡單的 「跨圈行動」：主動找一個平常不太會接觸的人，跟他多說一句話。坐到他旁邊、問他的名字、一起吃午飯，或者真心問一句：「最近好嗎？」
甚至可以為自己定一個小小的習慣：每次去到一個聚會，不只跟熟悉的人說話，也主動認識一個自己不熟悉的人。不要一開始就想着我要幫助他、改變他，甚至向他講甚麼大道理。先認識他。聽聽他的故事，了解他的生活，讓原本的「他們」，慢慢變成一個有名字、有故事的「他」。耶穌沒有站在自己的圈內等待婦人過來，而是自己走進撒馬利亞。也許今天，神也把一個「撒馬利亞」放在我們身邊：不是一個地方，而是一個我們平常不會主動走近的人。
今天，效法耶穌 ── 跨出自己的圈，主動走近一個平常不會走近的人。
禱告：主耶穌，感謝祢主動跨越界線，走近每一個祢所愛的生命。求祢讓我看見自己心裏無形的圈子，不只與熟悉、相似、容易相處的人同行。賜我勇氣踏出舒適圈，主動認識和聆聽那些平常不會走近的人，讓我的一句問候、一份關心，成為祢愛人的開始。阿們。
