《連動物也會「跟風」？》
13「你們是世上的鹽。鹽若失了味，怎能叫它再鹹呢？以後無用，不過丟在外面，被人踐踏了。14 你們是世上的光。城造在山上是不能隱藏的。15 人點燈，不放在斗底下，是放在燈臺上，就照亮一家的人。16 你們的光也當這樣照在人前，叫他們看見你們的好行為，便將榮耀歸給你們在天上的父。」(馬太福音五13-16)
我現在是要得人的心呢？還是要得神的心呢？我豈是討人的喜歡嗎？若仍舊討人的喜歡，我就不是基督的僕人了。 (加拉太書一10)
不可叫人小看你年輕，總要在言語、行為、愛心、信心、清潔上，都作信徒的榜樣。 (提摩太前書四12)
13 “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. 14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:13-16)

分享：為了迎合同伴及團體的期望或規範，我們免不了會「跟風」改變自己的衣著打扮、行動和生活習慣，屈服於朋輩壓力。事實上，這種情況同樣見於動物身上。
研究追蹤南非的猴子，發現當一些猴子要試圖融入新的猴子群體時，牠們會立即改變飲食習慣，甚至「跟風」改吃之前排斥的食物，就像人類面對朋輩壓力時所作出的回應。又有研究發現新英格蘭海岸的座頭鯨從其他座頭鯨群體那裡學到先以尾巴拍打水面，然後吹出氣泡的新捕獵方式，結果這種方式很快便傳開來，流傳了好幾代，成為該地區座頭鯨的常見行為。
事實上，融入群體也是人之常情，「跟風」也並不全是壞事，我們總能在朋輩身上學到一些好的東西；只是人並不總是做出最好的選擇！
作為主的信徒，先不論要改變的內容，當面對同儕的期望和團體的要求，我們需要先審視自己的心：「我現在是要得人的心呢？還是要得神的心呢？」若我們仍像未信主前，更看重討人的喜悅，那便不是主的門徒了。(參加拉太書一10) 若我們更願意得神的心，那便應該思想哪些選擇更能將榮耀歸給神。若因此要對抗同儕的壓力，別忘了，我們這邊可有神呢！
在世俗的風潮中逆行本來不是易事，我們總要謹慎，不要踏上惡人的道路，要躲避開，轉身而去；(參箴言四14-15) 甚至，靠著主的力量到世上去作鹽作光。正如保羅勸勉提摩太那樣：「不可叫人小看你年輕，總要在言語、行為、愛心、信心、清潔上，都作信徒的榜樣。」 (提摩太前書四12) 說不定，我們不盲目跟風的選擇，可以像那最早習得新捕獵法的座頭鯨那樣，將屬神的風潮帶到整個群體裡，一代傳承予一代呢！
反思：我最近有沒有想要回應他人的期望呢？這是要討人喜悅，還是討神喜悅呢？這事我應該如何選擇才能將榮耀歸給神？
禱告：親愛的天父，感謝祢今天讓我們重新思想世俗的風潮，讓我們審視自己的內心渴望。就讓我們從祢得著更大勇氣，為主在世上作鹽作光。奉主名求，阿們。
